Job Description

Basic qualifications:

BSc or equivalent in Data Analysis, Process, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with proven hands on experience.

Broad understanding across statistics, engineering and scientific disciplines

Good understanding of Chemometrics applications and techniques

Experience in multivariate data analysis, e.g. PLS, PCA, MSPC

Experience from applying and implementing multivariate models, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Strong communication skills and ability to communicate analysis outcome to both technical and non-technical colleagues

Broad problem-solving capabilities and ability to incorporate scientific and engineering knowledge into multivariate modelling

Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary and international teams
Preferred qualifications:

PhD or other advanced degree in Chemometrics or a related discipline and with hands on experience would be ideal.

Hands on experience from running analytical equipment, e.g. NIR, Acoustics. Alternatively experience from running processing equipment

Pharmaceutical experience and knowledge (experience in quality by design principals and data for manufacture)

Experience in writing technical reports

Experience with applying Chemometrics in PAT

Experience with Design of Experiment techniques

Experience with commercial multivariate data analysis software packages such as SIMCA-P and experience with some scripting language, e.g. Matlab

Experience in project management.

There is currently an opportunity to join the Technical Data Team as a Chemometrician at the Pharma Launch and Global Supply manufacturing site in Ware, UK. The site supports respiratory and oral solid dose production. The key purpose of this role is to apply Chemometrics and Multivariate Analysis tools in order to enhance process analysis capability on site. The successful candidates will contribute to the introduction and implementation of Chemometrics thinking and methodology in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities attached to the role are as follows:
- Perform data analysis and develop Chemometrics models for new and existing products and processes
-Contribute to the implementation of Chemometrics models and methodology in the daily activities on site
-Contribute to the continuous improvement and promotion of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) activities on site
-Participate in cross disciplinary projects and data analyses
-Collaborate with Chemometricians upstream and contribute to model transfer activities and approaches both in and out of the site.
-Knowledge share with Chemometricians and multi-disciplinary teams across GSK
-Document work in technical reports
