Environmental Advisor

• Fast growing Australian oil and gas exploration and production company
• Leadership role reporting to the Regional Manager
• Perth based with occasional trips to site

AWE is on the lookout for a new Environmental Advisor to join their team in Perth.
You will be reporting to the Regional Manager in WA, with a dotted reporting line to the corporate HSEQ Manager. The role will be based in the WA field operations Perth office but will require you to travel to another site in WA at least once a month.

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring that the HSEQ management plans and systems for the West Australian Assets continue to meet AWE's HSEQ objectives and comply with all statutory legislation and industry best practice.
• Ensuring that Environmental objectives and targets are clearly defined and communicated to the team and contractors.
• Providing the team with specialist advice and assistance to ensure company Environmental requirements are clearly understood and complied with.
• Lead the organisation through the regulatory environmental approval pathway for major projects.

To be successful for this role you will need:

• A minimum of 5 years in the Petroleum industry
• Practical experience of process safety.
• Some experience in major hazard facility competencies in a line, HSE or regulatory role.
• Tertiary environmental qualifications
• First Aid, Incident Investigation training, Emergency Response Training
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Auditing environmental, quality & safety management systems
• Have High safety awareness & the ability to set high standards of performance
