Planning Engineer - Residential

Large underground base metal operation in Tasmania require a Planning Engineer to join the tech services team on site.

Working on a residential 5/2 roster you will Report to the Tech Services Manager and will be responsible for producing designs and schedules for planning and production systems for the operation. The key challenge you will face in this role will be to provide stope and ventilation designs and schedules that respond to short term needs and also incorporate the life of mine plan for the operation

Your duties will include but not limited to:
  • Review existing data and produce mine designs
  • Produce schedules
  • Produce an 18 month rolling updates to the Medium and Long-Term Systems Manager
  • Assist in producing annual updates
  • Develop safe work procedures, in line with Long-Term and Medium-Term design and scheduling system policies

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Previous experience in mine planning
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
  • Previous underground hard rock experience
  • Stope design experience
  • Ventilation design experience
  • Drill and blast design and scheduling experience
  • Working knowledge of Mine24D is highly desirable.
