• Principal Mining Engineer/ Mining Superintendent/ 2IC to Mine Manager - Fast tracked career progression into Mine Management
Our partner, a well-established mid-tier gold producer with highly profitable gold mining operations in Africa is currently looking for a seasoned Senior to Principal level Underground Mining Engineer, who is ready to be groomed into a Mine Engineering Manager and take over from the current Mine Engineering Manager to allow them to focus on new business and company expansion initiatives.
The company offers financial security with significant high grade Porphyry Au deposits and open cut and underground operations in currently in production. This would be a fantastic role for someone who wants the challenge to develop their career from a Principal/Senior Mine Engineer level in to the Mine Manager of a high grade underground gold mining operation.
The Role:
• Planning and executing the different stopes setups and extraction
• Ensuring the stability of the crown, stope walls and drawpoints
• Managing vertical openings, re-establishing service networks, and stope fillings
• Oversee all communication and coordination between the different departments in the mine.
• Management and mentoring of technical services division
• Lead Mine development design and scheduling using Surpac
• Coordinate mine contractors, mine staff and associated teams on site making sure the equipment is utilised to an optimum level
• Lead day to day engineering decisions
• Career progression into Mine Managers role taking on more responsibility
About you:
• Tertiary/post graduate qualifications in mining engineering.
• +10-15 years Underground and above ground experience.
• Mine Manager's Certificate or similar industry certificate.
• Experience of software such as Surpac.
• Experience working in a junior to mid-tier mining environment.
• +5 years' experience in mine design and scheduling for underground porphyry Au/Cu narrow vein style deposits.
• Proven results in exceeding targets autonomously.
• Ability working with all levels of staff both local and expat.
• High level commination skills both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to lead an engineering team independently by example.
