Operations Superintendent
About the Company:
My client is a leading and highly successful and reputable coal mining organisation working on exciting mining projects throughout Queensland. Due to the rapid growth of their organization they are now looking to recruit a mine operations superintendent for one of their open cut coal mining projects.
The main duties of the operations superintendent include:
- Oversee and supervise all personnel involved in their operation including contractors
- Ensure that the operation runs to planned targets in compliance with safety, environmental requirements
- Provide leadership on site as key member of the team in order to achieve goals and manage individuals and team performance
- Delivery and creation of mine plans and schedules
- Play a pivotal role integrating the mining department with other on site departments
The requirements of the operations superintendent include:
- Strong mining experience, knowledge and expertise within open cut coal mining
- Need extensive experience in draglines and truck and shovel operations
- Knowledge of coal quality and geology and the ability to articulate and analyse data in order to facilitate executive decisions
- Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- A sound understanding of statutory laws governing open cut coal mining
This is a residential role on a Monday to Friday basis with subsidised housing
Candidates must have the right to live and work in Australia.
