Condition Monitoring Technician - Responsible for collecting and analysing equipment condition data, presenting improvement opportunities to the Process Maintenance Team.
This role includes technical support for lubrication activities to ensure that effective and efficient strategies and procedures are in place to properly maintain the rotating equipment in the plant in accordance with World Class Maintenance Standards.
Field data collection, such as, oil samples, equipment vibrations, thermographs, thickness testing will be part of the daily routines to monitor mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Performing condition monitoring tasks using Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Thermography, Balancing, Laser alignment, Thickness testing, Flaw detection and Visual inspection.
  • Providing condition monitoring data collection, analysis and making recommendations based on the results.
  • Providing technical advice to the maintenance and operation teams for equipment performance issues and condition monitoring requirements.
  • Monitor alarms and analysis results in the Condition Monitoring Database / RBMWare (vibration analysis, Oil Analysis ,NDT and thermography)
  • Participate in commissioning of new and rebuilt equipment (base-line measurements).
  • Quality control of the Condition Monitoring / RBMWare databases
  • Participation in all failure investigation and root cause analysis session
  • Inspected failed parts and correlate analysis results to equipment conditions.
  • Provide technical reports and presentations that are timely and to a high standard, to operations and maintenance where appropriate.
  • Work closely with Reliability Engineers, OEMs and site Asset Management professionals in the development and continuous improvement of initiatives from Oil Analysis, Vibration Analysis, Thermography and other condition monitoring methods where appropriate for the identification of failure effects on Process Plant Equipment.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Strong understanding of Processing plant systems i.e. Crushers , Screens , Feeders, Conveyors, Ball Mills, Floatation etc
  • Experience in the use of the SAP or other maintenance management system.
  • Detailed Understanding of condition monitoring methods – Oil Analysis, Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Thickness testing, Flow Detection etc.
  • Sound judgement, decision-making and problem-solving capability
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interpret technical information, and provide advice to maintenance planners and operations
  • A meticulous approach to managing data.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Competent understanding in Failure and Root Cause Analysis
