An opportunity currently exists for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading mining company engaged on a project in Sierra Leone. The incumbent will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating the activities of the team made up of multi-disciplined professionals, to reach project delivery on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the overall quality and management of the project, maintaining accountability of all financial and budgetary requirements.
• Review of project proposals and plans to determine factors such as resources requirements and project progress.
• Assignment of project staff and initiation of recruitment when there are skills shortages.
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
• More than 10 years of experience in a mining environment, with at least 5 years project / construction management experience.
• A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
• Excellent track record of executing projects on time and on budget.
• A keen understanding of industry best practices and processes and their impact on project activities.
• Work experience within the mining industry in developing countries would be an advantage.
