The company
Our client is a leading Australian based exploration and development mining company with copper / cobalt operations in Central Africa.
A fantastic opportunity has recently come up for an experienced Contracts Manager.
The role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will perform duties in respect of the tendering and administration of contracts and subcontracts in accordance with our client’s policies, procedures, local and international law and any specific contract requirements.
Duties will include the following:
• Drafting and negotiation of contracts and subcontracts including management of legal reviews and their subsequent administration once executed.
• Preparation of Scope Change and Contract Amendments as required.
• Management of subcontractors to ensure achievement of targets and key milestones
• Gather and analyse data on performance of contractors and subcontractors to form part of the weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting to management.
• Review of trade compliance agreements and applications for import licenses.
• Recommendations to the Project Manager on contract philosophies
You
You will demonstrate:
• Experience in the administration of contracts or subcontracts in Africa.
• Demonstrable experience in performance managing contractors.
• Good knowledge of contracting principles.
• High level of independent judgement and organisational ability.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Strong abilities in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Some experience in scheduling tools such as MS Project.
• Knowledge of trade compliance regulations such as ITAR.
• French language skills preferable but not required.
