client base. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mining Engineer with
one of South America’s leading mining companies.
Language: Bilingual in
Spanish and English or Portuguese and English
The Senior Mining Engineer
will be an integral member of the operations team that will oversee the
development and completion of the project feasibility studies. The successful
candidate will initially be responsible for engineering design and mine
planning, and will assume a more operational role as the Project transitions to
construction and development. In this role, the Sr. Mining Engineer will
interact, monitor and provide oversight to various contractors and outside
vendors as appropriate.
The position can offer residency or you can be
placed on a 6/3 FIFO rotation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate
the various aspects of mine engineering, including design, planning and
development;
• Mine Planning (Long/Short term)
• Provide guidance,
support and act as direct resource to the team building the mine feasibility
studies;
• Assist in the development of mine plans, methods, design,
materials handling, manpower requirements, cost ?analysis and other areas as
appropriate;
• Provide specialist technical input into team project work;
• Provide input and evaluation into reserve and resource estimates;
•
Provide project management leadership and/or act as the mining lead on studies
and projects;
• Develop or bring forward, as appropriate, industry best
practices and new technologies;
• Oversee the development and maintenance of
long and short term mine plans, mine designs and input into ?geological efforts
as appropriate;
• Prepare and review project proposals, studies and
technical reports;
• Oversee the cost effective, safe and timely completion
of projects that meet or exceed expectations;
• Liaise with contractors,
vendors and other stakeholders on a technical level and present reports,
?publications and presentations in a professional manner;
• Travel to site
and head office as needed. ?
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCES:
•
Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline;
• Registered or eligible for registration with a recognized professional
association (P.Eng.);
• 10+ years of mining experience in operations,
engineering and project evaluation;
• Experience in underground and
overground mine design and development;
• Experience in mine equipment
selection, capital cost and operating cost estimates;
• Strong track record
of successfully completed projects in the mining industry;
• Experience in
an operations environment at the Mine Engineer or Superintendent level;
•
Familiar with mine planning software such as Minesight, AutoCAD or other mine
development software;
• Knowledge of NI 43-101 and the ability to sign off
on mineral reserves as a Qualified Person is desired but ?not required;
