Senior Geologist (Unconventional) - Sydney

An opportunity is available to join a successful mid size oil and gas operating company based in Sydney in the role of Senior Geologist (unconventional).

The role will offer the opportunity to work as part of an industry leading team completing complex geological assignments. The primary focus of the role is to integrate geological and other data to better characterize the reservoir as unconventional plays enter the development and production phase.

Responsibilities of the role will include;
  • Interpret and evaluate subsurface geologic data to construct integrated maps, cross sections, and other geologic displays defining subsurface structure, reservoir geometries, and hydrocarbon potential to characterize this unconventional play
  • Work closely with a team of geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, and operations geologists to integrate well log correlations, petrophysical analysis, geochemisty, geomechanics, seismic interpretations, production and completion data, and specific geologic models to define the play and optimize development strategies
  • Assesses the potential and economic viability of externally generated proposals for the company
  • Assist the team in generating reserves assessments and other corporate development planning

Suitable applicants will have;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 8 years experience in E&P company
  • Minimum 3 years in unconventional experience
A salary range of $170,000 - $200,000 + bonuses is available for this role depending on skills and experience.
