Senior Mine Geologist

This Australian miner has multiple operations in WA and developing projects both here and inter-state. At their flagship open cut gold operation they are currently seeking an experienced Senior Geologist with strong Surpac skills to join their geology team. This role is on offer on a 2:1 roster and will report directly to the Mine Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for all things geology related within the producing mine-site. There will also be opportunity to be involved in some near-,mine exploration and development projects. You will take a leadership role in the geology team and will be joining at a time when the company are implementing Surpac software, hence experience in this will be well regarded. In your role you'll ensure high quality systems of work in the geology team and timely and accurate geological data for grade control and general direction of the mining contractor. You'll also lead reconciliation processes and mentor and guide your team on their in-pit work.
This role requires a geologist with proven experience at a Senior Geologist level, in addition you will have used Surpac previously and of course worked in open pit mining. This job will give the right person room to spread their wings and make the job their own, a reasonable amount of autonomy will be expected and delivering the right results in this small team will be challenging but very rewarding.
